Dr. P. S. Srinivasan, a freedom fighter and former Municipal Chairman succeeded Sri Ramaswami Sastriar.

The Montessori School was started during his period. This was a truly woman friendly development.

It freed the young mother from the chores of household routine and enabled her to contribute to a wider social cause simultaneously giving the pre-school children a healthy growth environment. It was during his time that the Dakshinamoorthi Prayer Hall was constructed. A memorable music concert by the famous singer Smt.M.S.Subbulakshmi was organized during his tenure. Being an MLA and a Congressman he was able to persuade the Chief Minister Sri.K.Kamaraj to participate in the Golden Jubilee function of the school. All these activities added prestige to the institution.
